Fashion industry is considered one of the largest polluters in the world by the United Nations. And as the industry grows every years, so does the environmental damage caused by it. Raw materials, production and the supply chain of the fashion industry all contribute to environmental degradation in different forms. This means the effects are on all aspects including water, air, and biodiversity degradation. Our research also shows that the main factors that contribute to environmental degradation are overproduction and overconsumption of fashion products. This means that the consumers and the brands are equally responsible.
At Kloner, we are creating the garments of the future that completely eliminate waste and excessive use of water during production, Our garments are 100% digital which minimises the carbon footprint as well.
Digital fashion for a sustainable future
Production of a digital garment produces 98% less CO2 than production of traditional physical clothing.
Our research also indicates that 8000 Liters of water is consumed during production of 1 traditional pair of denim denim. Production process of our denims at Kloner do not use any water, except the ones which we drink ofcourse.
Production of a digital garment, on average, saves 3300 liters of water per garment. This is enough for a person to drink 2 liters per day over a span of 3 years. Shocking isn't it 😮
We do it for the planet
Yes, fast fashion makes shopping for clothes more affordable - but it comes with a huge environmental cost. As consumers worldwide buy more clothes, the growing market for cheap items and new styles is taking a toll on the environment. On average, people bought 60% more garments in 2014 than they did in the year 2000.
With Kloner want to continue the beauty and excitement of physical fashion, but we believe that there are ways to produce less and ways to produce much more responsibly.
We do it for the people
Consumers are not fully aware of the fact that most of the physical clothes are made in the countries in where worker's rights are limited (and sometimes even non-existent).
Many factories have unsafe working environment and so many fashion brands pay the minimum legal wage which does not even allow the workers to live a decent life.
On the other hand, almost all digital fashion producers are international and global. Our Kloner team is not chained to a factory, production site, or an office, which means that our team can work from anywhere in the world in the best working conditions possible. Our future goal is to run our computers and offices on renewable energy so we are 100% sustainable in production.
